Abington Drops Non-Conference Match to Eagles

Box Score Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's tennis team were defeated by Eastern University, 6-1, in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon at the Abington Tennis Courts on campus.

How It Happened
 
* Eastern came away with a sweep of doubles competitions to earn the team point.
 
* Sophomore Krishna Gurram and freshman Dan Trott battled to a 6-4 match at first doubles against Eastern's Peter Folga and Steven Dottoli.
 
* Sophomore Charlie Batman picked up the Nittany Lions' lone team point.  Batman defeated Zach Sprung by the scores of 6-4, 6-4 at sixth singles. It marked his second singles victory of the season.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the ninth meeting between Abington and Eastern since the start of the 2011-12 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 7-2 versus the Eagles in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 11 as the Nittany Lions travel to face McDaniel College in a non-conference contest.  Match time is set for 1 p.m.
