Abington Competes at Annual Bill Butler Invitational

RESULTS

West Chester, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's track & field team competed at the annual Bill Butler Invitational hosted by West Chester University on Saturday.

Meet Highlights

* Senior Teni Olayinka-Yusuf broke two of her own school records as she recorded two top-10 finishes. In the 100-meters, Olayinka-Yusuf broke her record of 12.96 seconds in the preliminaries with a time of 12.90 seconds. Then in the finals, she broke that mark with a new record time of 12.80 seconds as she finished seventh overall in the event. In the 200-meters, Olayinka-Yusuf finished ninth overall with a time of 26.60 seconds breaking her previous top-mark of 27.19 seconds.

* Freshman Solomiya Oros set personal-best times in both the 100-meters and 200-meters. In the 100-meters, she finished in 15.61 seconds and in the 200-meters she recorded a time of 33.36 seconds.

* Senior Neph Gabriel also set personal-best times in the 100 and 200-meters. Gabriel recorded a time of 17.58 seconds in the 100-meters and then in the 200-meters finished in 40.71 seconds.

* Junior Nelly Evangelista recorded a new personal-best in the 200-meters with a time of 32.35 seconds and then registered a new personal-best in the 400-meters in 1:16.20.

* Senior Mariami Shinjashvilli competed in the 800-meters and set a personal-best time of 3:36.32.

Abington returns to action on Thursday, April 16 as the Nittany Lions compete in the Lincoln University Invitational.
