Abington Competes at Monarch Open

RESULTS

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's track & field team competed at the Monarch Open hosted by King's College on Saturday after Betzler Outdoor Track.

Meet Highlights

* Senior Teni Olayinka-Yusuf finished first overall in the 100-meters as she finished in a time of 13.22 seconds. It marked her first individual victory of the season. Olayinka-Yusuf also finished fourth in the 200-meters with a time of 27.35 seconds.

* Senior Jeniyah Phair recorded a top-10 finish in the 100-meters as she finished ninth overall. Phair finished with a personal-best time of 15.14 seconds. She also competed in the 200-meters and finished in 35.58 seconds.

* In the 400-meters, Abington had three sprinters finish in the top-10. Sophomore Autumn Marteins-Jackson led the way with a seventh place showing as she recorded a personal-best time of 1:16.18. Junior Nelly Evangelista finished eighth in 1:16.30, while senior Mariami Shinjashvilli finished ninth in 1:29.16 setting a new personal-best.

Next Up
Abington returns to action next weekend as the Nittany Lions compete in the United East Championships. Keystone College will serve as host of the two-day championship.
