Trott & Tymchenko Earn All-United East Honors

Latham, N.Y. – Penn State Abington senior Mark Tymchenko and freshman Daniel Trott were named to the United East Conference (UEC) Men's Tennis All-Conference teams as announced by the conference office on Wednesday and as voted upon by the head coaches.

Abington's first flight doubles duo earned All-United East second team honors in doubles and in addition, Trott was selected All-United East second team in singles.

"Daniel and Mark had standout seasons, and I was happy to see that they were recognized by the coaches in the United East," said head coach Matt Levy. "Daniel was a difference maker for us from day one and led our charge at our top spot. He and Mark built great chemistry together as our top doubles team and won many key matches for us."

Tymchenko and Trott finished the season 7-6 overall at first doubles, including an impressive 5-2 mark against United East opponents.  After starting the season 2-2 in conference play, they finished the year winning their final three doubles matches against conference opponents, including a 7-5 victory against St. Mary's College (Md.) top doubles team.

In his first year of collegiate action, Trott stepped into the team's top-flight singles position and posted a 4-3 record against the conference's top elite players.  He finished the season with seven victories overall.

Abington (7-8, 3-4 UEC) qualified for the conference tournament for the 13th time since joining Division III.  The Nittany Lions fell short in the quarterfinals to Penn State Berks, 4-3.
