Abington, Pa. – Penn State Abington had its three-game winning streak snapped after falling to Penn State Brandywine at home by the score of 69-64 Thursday night.
Abington falls to 3-4 overall while Brandywine improved to 5-4 as the Lady Lions struggled to maintain possession of the ball as Brandywine converted 32 points off of Abington's 19 turnovers.

Jessica Schmidt pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds while adding two blocks.
Abington started the game with a three point lead, however Brandywine would answer back tying up the game twice throughout the first half, as the lead changed eight times between the two teams. The battle continued throughout the half, as both teams could only extend the lead to four points at the most before the game was once again equalized a few minutes later. Watson bounced a pass to Schmidt, who then posted a layup to give Abington a four point lead at the 1:47 mark before the end of the half.
The second half had the same melody, with Abington looking to jump out quick as Winston extend a eight point lead with a jumper three minutes into the start of the second half, however the lead quickly diminished as Brandywine kept chipping their way back into the game, answering back with a 7-0 run to retake the lead at the 13:52 mark. Both teams exchanged baskets seven times, tying up the game for the sixth time before Brandywine's Jessica Gledhill nailed a 3-pointer to start an 10-2 run with 2:32 remaining.
Abington battled their way back in the final minutes with a steal by Watson that sparked a run with the Lady Lions shortening the margin to just three points with 27 seconds remaining on the clock. Despite a full-court press by the Abington defenders, Brandywine managed to net a final basketball in the final seconds to secure the 69-64 win.
The Brandywine defense held Abington's offense to 36.9 percent shooting from the field. Abington however held the rebounding edge, 44-39 and shot 88.9 percent from the stripe compared to Brandywine's 63.6 percent.
Abington will conclude the 2012 calendar year with a home contest versus Arcadia University on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. Be sure to stay tuned in to
