The Penn State Abington women's tennis team posted a 9-0 victory over Bryn Athyn College this afternoon.
The Lady Lions, who dropped just one set, are now 5-2 on the season while Bryn Athyn dropped its first match of the season.
Abington began play by taking all three doubles courts.
Stephanie Mockus and
Adela Ulitsky won by an 8-4 score at No. 1 doubles while juniors
Jenny Abraham and
Lauren Hetzel won by an 8-0 margin at No. 2 doubles.
Lori Philips and
Kimberly Ochester closed out the third spot with an 8-0 decision.
In singles play, the Lady Lions continued to roll.
Mockus needed the tie breaker to clinch the 3-6, 7-5, 10-5 decision for the team point.
Hetzel won 6-0, 7-6 at No. 2 while Abraham was victorious by a 6-0, 6-1 score at No. 3 singles.
Phillips swept her opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 decision as Orchester nearly followed suit but won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5.
Olga Popili completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
Abington will return to action on March 24th on the road as it takes on Arcadia University for the 12 p.m. match time.

NEAC members Keuka, Lancaster Bible, Penn State Abington, Penn State Berks and Penn State Harrisburg will play as associate members of the NAC in a West Division. The East Division will consist of NAC members Castleton, Colby-Sawyer, Green Mountain, Johnson State, Lyndon State and Thomas.
