Zollner Named United East Player of the Week

Latham, N.Y. – Penn State Abington junior Jana Zollner was named the United East Conference (UEC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 18 as announced by the conference office earlier in the week.

Zollner earned her second Player of the Week honor this fall after going 2-0 in Abington's 7-0 shutout victory over Neumann University to close out the fall season. The junior teamed with freshman Lilly Downey for a 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles before recording a straight-set shutout at No. 1 singles.

Zollner finished the fall campaign with a perfect 8-0 combined record in singles and doubles competition, dropping just three games throughout the entire fall.

Abington (2-2, 0-0 UEC) will resume play later this spring with a full conference schedule of matches, including additional non-conference contests.
