BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The Penn State Abington women's tennis team quickly disposed of Bryn Athyn College in a 9-0 dual match victory for Abington on Friday at the Gladish Courts. The Nittany Lions swept all three doubles matches and won two of the singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 finals.
Honora Hegarty and
Sheena Philip won at first doubles and each won their singles matches by 6-4, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0 scores, respectively.
Olya Popili won in straight sets in a tight battle for the 7-5, 6-3 decision at second singles.
Taylor Zisholtz partnered with
Janie Saile to win 8-0 at third doubles. Abington's other victorious singles players were Honestee Sphabmixa with a 6-1, 6-1 decision.
Abington improved to 3-4 on the season and the Nittany Lions will host Baruch College of New York at 11 a.m. Saturday to conclude the weekend.
