Box Score Immaculata, Pa. – The Penn State Abington baseball squad took a tough loss earlier this afternoon to the Mighty Macs of Immaculata University. The Nittany Lions were only able to scratch across one run in the contest, while Immaculata used two five-run innings to run away with a 10-1 win.
Brian Camp took the loss for the Blue and White, while Matt Dolan got the win for Immaculata.

The Nittany Lions (6-7, 0-0 NEAC) jumped out to a quick lead in the contest. With one out,
Tom Ditro, hero of
Monday's walk-off win over #8 Rowan, laced a double into right field. After a fly out to left field, freshman
Mike Scaringelli stepped up to the plate and blasted a 3-2 pitch into left center for a double of his own, scoring Ditro and giving Penn State Abington an early 1-0 lead. However, Scaringelli was picked off second later in the inning, ending the Nittany Lion attack for virtually the rest of the afternoon. Meanwhile, Camp was mowing down the Mighty Macs (6-7, 1-2 CSAC) in the early going, allowing just one hit and one walk over the first four innings. However, in the fifth, Immaculata's bats woke up, as they exploded for five runs, all of them coming with two outs in the inning. The first came on a bases loaded single by Jason McCormick. The next batter was hit by a pitch, scoring another run before Joe DiGiamio knocked in two more runs with a single up the middle. The final run of the inning scored on an error, and by the time Penn State Abington finally got out of the fifth, they trailed by a 5-1 score line.

Things would only get worse in the seventh, as Immaculata batted through the lineup and scored five more runs, all earned, to take a 10-1 lead. That score remained the same for the rest of the game, as the Nittany Lions were only able to get five hits on the afternoon en route to the loss. With the loss, Penn State Abington drops to 6-7 on the season, but they will have a chance to get immediately back to the .500 mark when they hit the diamond tomorrow afternoon for a game at Ursinus College.
