CLARK SUMMIT, Pa. – The Abington women's tennis team finished it's fantastic season with a heart breaking 5-3 loss to Penn State Berks in the NEAC West Finals, Saturday morning.

Abington finish their season at 15-2, which marks a program record.

Abington opened the match with two wins in doubles.
Gabrielle Eberhardt (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and
Sheena Philip (Philadelphia, Pa.) won the first point with an 8-1 victory. Freshman
Amanda Shulski (Penndel, Pa.) and sophomore Jane Ann Saile (Huntington Valley, Pa.) battled for Abington's second point with a close 8-6 win.

Berks rallied taking the first, fifth, and sixth matches in singles but
Sheena Philip (Philadelphia, Pa.) pulled Abington within a point after a crucial three set victory winning, 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 6-1.Â
Honestee Sphabmixay (Philadelphia, Pa.) took the first set, but couldn't hold on, dropping the final match 1-6, 6-0, 6-2.

The NEAC West champion Penn State Berks will face off against the East champion Colby-Sawyer College for a spot in the NCAA DIII tournament.

The NEAC Individual tournament will finish on Sunday afternoon.
