ABINGTON, Pa – The Abington women's tennis team defeated Rosemont College 9-0, getting, its first win of the season, Wednesday afternoon.

Honestee Sphabmixay (Philadelphia, PA) paired with first year player Madison Kimball (Jenkintown, Pa.) for an easy 8-0 win over Rosemont's Niemah Solomon-McCloud and Imani McGougan. Amanda Shulski (Penndel, Pa.) and Janie Saile (Huntington Valley, Pa.) also swept the Ravens finishing second 8-0.  Gabrielle Eberhardt (Cherry Hill, NJ) and Sheena Philip (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished off Emily Javitt and Nyajah Solomon-McCloud 8-3 in doubles action

The Nittany Lions clinched the match when Shulski defeated Nyajah Solomon McCloud 6-0, 6-0 for the fifth point in singles play.

The Nittany Lions return to action September 16, when they host Delaware Valley University at 3:00 p.m.
