GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's tennis team increased its winning streak to four after a 7-1 win over Arcadia University, Tuesday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions are off to their second best start in program history going 4-0 for the year.
Abington swept the doubles competition with
Honestee Sphabmixay and
Gabrielle Eberhardt finishing first with an 8-2 win. Next
Amanda Shulski and
Janie Saile earning an 8-2 victory. Rounding out the doubles matches was
Madison Kimball and
Sheena Philip getting an 8-5 decision.
Shulski was the first finisher for the singles matches, winning in three sets 6-4, 0-6, 6-2. Philip picked up the crucial fifth point for the win defeating Arcadia's Zoe Fogila 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
The Nittany Lions return to the court when they travel to Eastern University Tuesday September 29, at 3:00 p.m.
