LANCASTER, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's tennis team won its fifth consecutive match with an 8-1 win over Lancaster Bible College on Sunday afternoon. The Nittany Lions stay perfect in conference with a 5-0 record and improve to 6-5 overall.
The Nittany Lions earned three easy wins in doubles action with an 8-4 win at the no. 1 singles a, 8-3 victory at the second flight and an 8-1 decision at the third doubles match.
Abington went on to win five of the six doubles matches, losing the top flight in a close 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 match. Senior
Janie Saile came from behind in a close 3-6, 7-5, 13-11 win over the Chargers Stephanie Blest.
The Nittany Lions will return to action when they face Penn State Berks at a date and time later to be announced after the match was postponed on Saturday.
