ABINGTON, Pa. – On senior day the Penn State Abington women's tennis team hosted Penn State Berks and shut out their rivals 9-0 on Monday afternoon.
After the match the Nittany Lions honored senior
Krystal Maldonado for her past two years in the program.
The Nittany Lions swept doubles action with
Carly Martinson and
Michelle Ly winning the topflight 8-3. In the no. 2 flight
Tais Morais and
Anna Kalinovskaia took their match 8-2 and Maldonado and
Emina Mulaosmanovic blanked their opponents 8-0.
In singles action Abington Martinson finished first after a 6-4,6-4 win in the topflight and Kalinovskaia clinched the match in the second spot with a 6-1, 6-3 win.
Abington will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to Penn College for a 2:00 p.m. match.
