Box Score MORRISTOWN, NJ – The Penn State Abington women's tennis team picked up its first win of the season as the Nittany Lions travelled to Saint Elizabeth University and posted a 7-2, non-conference victory.
Penn State Abington (1-4) was victorious in all seven matches that took place on Tuesday afternoon (sixth singles and third doubles was defaulted to the Eagles). The action started at doubles where the tandem of
Michelle Ly and
Emina Mulaosmanovic had an 8-2 triumph at the first flight.
Isabella Ferreira and
Taylor LaPage notched their first collegiate wins with an 8-4 score at second doubles.
In singles' action, Ly took care of business with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the first spot. Mulaosmanovic added a 6-4, 6-2 win at number two and Ferreira got her first singles' victory with a 6-0, 6-2 score at third singles.
Melissa Flood posted her first collegiate triumph with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the fourth flight and LaPage got won her first singles' match-up with a 6-0, 6-1 score.
The Nittany Lions will return to action on Sunday, April 3 when they host Elizabethtown College for a non-conference contest.
