Abington Hosts Spring Invitational at Five Ponds Golf Course

RESULTS

Warminster, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's golf team hosted its annual Spring Invitational at Five Ponds Golf Course on Monday. The Nittany Lions finished fifth as a team and senior Michael Festa was the team's top individual as he finished tied for sixth overall.

Penn State Harrisburg finished first with a team-score of 314; eight strokes better than second place Penn College (322). Harrisburg's Josh Africa earned medalist honors as he finished the invitational with a low-score of 73 finishing two-over par.

Festa finished with a team-low score of 80 for Abington as he finished tied for sixth among 37 competitors. Senior Nick DeGirolamo finished one stroke behind as he carded an 81 to finish tied for ninth.

Junior Lenny Gipson finished tied for 21^st after recording a score of 86. Other scores for Abington included, freshman John Donahue (100 – 35^th) and sophomore Tyler Burton (102 – t-36^th).

Sophomore Ethan Ethridge competed as an individual and carded a score of 99.

Abington returns to action on Saturday, April 29 as the Nittany Lions compete in the two-day United East Conference Championships. More information on this year's championship will be available prior to the event.
