Abington Honors 40th Anniversary Championship Team

Abington, Pa. – The 1984-85 men's basketball team returned to campus to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the team's Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference championship in a special halftime ceremony of the men's basketball game against Cairn University on Saturday afternoon at the Abington Athletic Building.

Known as Penn State Ogontz back then, the 1984-85 team finished an impressive 27-3 overall, including 11-1 in conference play that year.  The 27 victories are still the most in a single season in program history.  Guided by legendary head coach Dick Wiseman, the Nittany Lions capped the season as Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference champions.  Wiseman is the program's all-time winningest coach with 152 victories.
