Flemming Named United East Player of the Week

Latham, N.Y. – Penn State Abington sophomore Laurie Flemming was named the United East Conference (UEC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending April 20 as announced by the conference office earlier in the week.

Abington wrapped up the regular season with a 2-1 record as Flemming finished a perfect 6-0 in her singles and doubles matches. She went 3-0 at first singles, including two shutouts against Notre Dame of Maryland University and Penn State Berks. She won her singles match at Cairn University in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. In doubles action, Flemming teamed up senior Isabella DePorre and the duo finished 3-0 at first doubles.

Flemming finished the regular season with an 11-2 mark in singles action, including 6-1 in conference play. She also finished doubles play with DePorre with an identical record.

Abington (9-6, 5-3 UEC) is back in action this afternoon as the Nittany Lions travel to face Lancaster Bible College in the United East First Round. Match time is set for 3 p.m.
