Women’s Tennis Garners ITA Academic Awards

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's tennis program received recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) when the organization announced its annual academic awards. 
 
Abington earned the ITA All-Academic Team award after boasting a grade point average of 3.24 for the 2024-25 academic year.  In order be named an ITA All-Academic Team, program's must have a team GPA of 3.2 or above.
 
In addition, four student-athletes were recognized with the ITA Scholar-Athlete award for registering a GPA of 3.5 or higher during the 2024-25 academic year.  Those honored include, Tonya Bogacheva, Isabella DePorre, Laurie Flemming and Maman Saly Mbengue
 
In total, the ITA has 1,269 Division III women's student-athletes named as ITA Scholar-Athletes and 165 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
