Kilner, Lenox Earn All-Conference Honors at United East Championship

RESULTS

Chambersburg, Pa. – Senior Jack Lenox and sophomore Matthew Kilner each earned All-United East Conference (UEC) honors at the conclusion of the United East Championship on Saturday at the Chambersburg Country Club. The Penn State Abington men's golf team finished sixth overall as a team after producing the second lowest team score on day two of the championship. Abington carded a 332 improving by 39 strokes from day one.

Championship Highlights

* Kilner finished seventh overall after carding a team-low score of 77 on day two, improving by 13 strokes from the opening round. He recorded four birdies and parred six holes on the afternoon. With his seventh-place finish, Kilner earned All-United East first team honors.

* Lenox came through with a 79 on the final day after carding a 90 on day one as he also improved by double-digit strokes. He recorded two birdies and parred nine holes on day two and finished 11^th overall to earn All-United East second team honors.

* Junior Bern Popky finished 25^th overall as he finished day two with an 85. Popky also improved by eight strokes from his opening day score. Popky parred five of the back nine holes and finished with eight pars on the final day.

* Sophomore Matt Duggan improved by seven strokes on day two to finish with a 91.

* Freshman Anthony Feliciani, competing in his first conference championships, finished 38^th overall.

* Abington's day two team score of 332 was the third lowest team score overall for the championship. Only Penn College, who repeated as team champion, had lower scores. The Wildcats recorded a 324 on day one and a 326 on day two.
