Abington Competes at Ursinus Springfest

RESULTS

Collegeville, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's track & field team competed at the annual Ursinus College Springfest over the weekend at Patterson Field.

Meet Highlights

* Sophomore Autumn Marteins-Jackson set season-best times in both the 200-meters and 400-meters. In the 200-meters, she finished in 32.86 seconds and completed the 400-meters in 1:18.89.

* Freshman Solomiya Oros set a new personal-best in the 200-meters as she finished in 34.25 seconds.

* Freshman Mariami Shinjashvilli set a new personal-best in the 800-meters with a time of 3:36.72. Shinjashvilli also competed in the 400-meters for the first time and crossed the finish line in 1:32.97.

* Sophomore Zara Tabansi set a personal-best in the javelin throw with a distance of 53'10" (16.40m). Tabansi also set a season-best distance in the discus at 75'4" (22.97m). She also competed in the shot put and finished with a distance of 25' 4.75" (7.74m).

* Junior Quelida Alexandre set season-best distances in the discus and javelin throw. In the discus, the finished with a distance of 59'0" (17.98m) and in the javelin recorded a distance of 38' 3". (11.65m). Alexandre also competed in the shot put and recorded a distance of 23' 1.75" (7.05m).

Abington returns to action this weekend as the Nittany Lions compete in the two-day Bill Butler Invitational hosted by West Chester University.
