Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball rallied in the second half to cut the deficit to just three points in the closely contested game, but the Lancaster Bible Chargers would pull away, winning 91-86, and taking the first conference game of the season.
Abington struggled at the start of the game as the Chargers jumped ahead with a 10-0 run with 13:04 remaining before extending the lead to as much as 23 points before the Nittany Lions roared back to life to cut the deficit to 14 points with the Chargers leading 54-40 at the break.
The Nittany Lions continued to trail by as much as 12 points towards the end of the second half with less than four minutes remaining. A pair of free throws from junior forward

Kyle Battell invigorated the Nittany Lions' rally with a three-pointer from
Devin Jones followed by a jumper from
Nisiar Smith to spark a 7-0 run in a span of three minutes with Abington now trailing 87-84 with just 30 seconds remaining in the game.
A foul by Smith gave Lancaster to opportunity to lead by two, only to have that nullified with a layup by
Avery Barnes in the paint with 12 seconds remaining. Abington pressed shifted into a full court press, hoping to force a turnover but ended up fouling Lancaster's CJ Dunston, who then made both of his free throws to give the Charges a five point lead for the victory.
Marvin collected his fourth straight double-doubles after posting season-high 33 points and 15 rebounds on the night. Smith, Jones, and Barnes each tallied in double digits and each came up with a block with Smith scoring 15, Jones and Barnes adding 10 apiece. Senior guard
Max Alton pitched in with seven assists.
The loss drops the Nittany Lions to 2-3 (0-1 NEAC) on the season, while the Chargers improved to 1-3 (1-0 NEAC) on the year.
Penn State Abington will take the rest of the week off due to the holidays before returning to action on Wednesday, December 4
th as the Nittany Lions host Gallaudet University in a NEAC conference matchup. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m.
