CLARK SUMMIT, Pa – For the second year in a row, the Penn State Abington men's tennis team took the NAC West* title after a 5-0 win over rival Penn State Berks Thursday morning at the Birchwood Tennis Club in Clarks Summit, Pa. With the win head coach
David Sheaffer racks up his 100
th career win as a collegiate coach.

Abington got off to a quick start by sweeping the doubles competition to open the match. Â The No. 3 pairing of
Michael Brown (Philadelphia, Pa.) and
Kevin Wilkinson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) against Dylan Deleon and Jerrad Seifrit ended with an 8-1 victory for Abington. The No. 1 match finished next with
Mohammed Ammouni (Bensalem, Pa.) and
James Howell (Abington, Mass.) taking the win 8-1. Finally the No. 2 match featuring
Justin McNab (Elkins Park, Pa.) and
Monte Dunson (Philadelphia, Pa.) came to a close 8-6 win for Abington.

In singles action, Brown finished with the fourth point in a 6-3, 6-0 win over Deleon and shortly after McNab clinched the fifth and winning point in a 6-3, 6-1 win over Volan Nnanpalle.

Abington will meet the NAC East tournament champion on May 3 at the Sportime Tennis Club in Schenectady, N.Y. Â The winner of the NAC final will earn a trip to the NCAA III Tournament.

The Individual tournament will resume today starting with doubles and the singles will begin tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m.

Beginning with the 2010 season, the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has partnered with the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) in the sport of men's and women's tennis. The NEAC will compete as associate members of the NAC in men's tennis, while the NAC will compete as associate members of the NEAC in women's tennis. Members from each conference will be divided into an East and West Division for each sport, with each division holding a championship and the two divisional champions then facing off to determine the conference champion. The conference winner for each sport will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships.  Â
