Isabella Earns All-United East Honors at Championships

RESULTS

Hughesville, Md. – Junior Marco Isabella earned All-United East honors after placing 23^rd overall at the annual United East Cross Country Championships on Saturday. This year's championship race was hosted by St. Mary's College (Md.) at Oak Ridge Park in Hughesville, Md. Abington placed 10^th overall as a team after totaling 240 points.

Penn College (49) repeated as conference champions and were followed close behind by St. Mary's (68) and Penn State Berks (97). Lancaster Bible College's Mitchell Gray finished the 8k-course first overall with a time of 26:04.03.

Meet Highlights

* Isabella recorded a new personal-best time in the United East Championships after crossing the finish line in 30:46.8. He finished 23^rd overall and as a result earned All-United East third team honors.

* Freshman Mateo Jofre set a new personal-best in his first-ever championship race. He finished in a time of 34:15.7 (56^th).

* Junior Nic Worrall set a new season-best 8k- time as he finished in 36:10.0. (67^th).

* Freshman Joseph Luis finished in 37:55.0 (77^th) in his first-ever conference championship. His time also set a new personal-best.

* Freshman Anthony Silva also set a new personal-best in his first United East championship appearance as he crossed the finish line in 38:40.2 (79^th).

* Freshman Peter Woo capped the scoring for the Nittany Lions as he registered a time of 49:50.2 in his first-ever championship race. Woo's time also set a new personal-best.

Abington returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 16 as the Nittany Lions compete in the Division III Metro Region Championships.
