Abington Takes Part in Green and Gold Invitational

RESULTS

Doylestown, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's cross country team competed in the annual Green and Gold Invitational hosted by Delaware Valley University on Saturday.

Race Highlights

* Freshman Nina Maxwell was the first Abington runner to cross the finish line as she completed the 6k-course in a season-best time of 30:35.3. Maxwell finished 15^th overall.

* Junior Nicole Hakman was the next runner to finish as she came in 23^rd overall in a time of 34:40.4.

* Abington had a quartet of runners finishing back-to-back-to-back-to-back. Sophomore Liza Worrall finished in 40:35.7 (29^th), while sophomore Autumn Marteins-Jackson finished in a season-best time of 44:10.3 (30^th). Senior Brianaliz Jimenez recorded a season-best time of 44:45.2 (31^st) and sophomore Quelida Alexandre finished in 56:23.2 (32^nd) to set a new season-best.

Abington returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 18 as the Nittany Lions compete at the annual Border Battle hosted by Rowan University.
