Nittany Lions Host Abington Invitational

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's cross country hosted the annual Abington Invitational on Saturday morning at Lorimer Park.

Race Highlights

* Junior Nicole Hakman and freshman Nina Maxwell finished back-to-back as the top two Abington runners to cross the finish line. Hakman finished the 6k-course in 34:07.35 (30^th), while Maxwell finished in 34:10.64 (31^st).

* Sophomore Liza Worrall was next to finish as she recorded a time of 39:22.90 (49^th) to set a new personal-best at the Abington Invitational. Her sister and Abington alum, Brielle Worrall, finished right with her at 39:22.99.

* Junior Teni Olayinka-Yusuf finished in 46:17.17 (65^th) and was followed by junior Kinah Britton (46:36.89 – 67^th) and sophomore Autumn Marteins-Jackson (46:38.26 – 68^th).

* Senior Brianaliz Jimenez set a new season-best with a time of 50:22.66 (69^th).

* Senior Yeva Amirkhanyan finished the race in 1:05:50.80.

Race Notes

* Lancaster Bible College was the overall winner as the Chargers recorded a team score of 39. Penn State Harrisburg (61) and Cairn University (90) rounded out the top-three.

* Cairn's Clarisse Hayden was the top overall collegiate runner. Hayden finished the race in a time of 25:33.73.

Abington returns to action on Saturday, October 4 as the Nittany Lions compete in the Highlander Invitational hosted by Cairn University.
