Abington Competes at Annual Highlander Invitational

RESULTS

Langhorne, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's cross country team took part in the annual Highlander Invitational hosted by Cairn University on Saturday.

Race Highlights

* Freshman Nina Maxwell was the first Abington runner to cross the finish line. Maxwell finished the 6k-course in a time of 33:22.1 (49^th) to set a new season-best.

* Junior Nicole Hakman was next to finish as she recorded a time of 34:16.4 (54^th).

* Senior Teni Olayinka-Yusuf set a new season-best with a time of 44:17.6 (84^th).

* Sophomore Autumn Marteins-Jackson also set a season-best time as she finished the 6k-race in a time of 45:39.6 (88^th).

* Other finishes for Abington include, senior Brianaliz Jimenez (53:52.6 – 92^nd) and sophomore Quelida Alexandre (1:01:34.6 – 98^th).

Race Notes

* Abington finished 12^th overall as a team out of 22 teams. The Nittany Lions recorded a team score of 271.

* Lancaster Bible College won the event with a team score of 62.

* Immaculata University's Aubrey Donahue was the top finisher as she recorded a winning time of 24:26.5.

Abington is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 11 as the Nittany Lions compete in the Green and Gold Invitational hosted by Delaware Valley University.
