Abington Competes in Rowan’s Border Battle

Logan Township, N.J. – The Penn State Abington women's cross country team took part in the annual Border Battle hosted by Rowan University at DREAM Park on Saturday. The Nittany Lions competed in the Women's Open 6k-Race.

Meet Highlights

* Junior Nicole Hakman was the team's top finisher as she completed the 6k-course in a time of 30:16.1 setting a new season-best.

* Freshman Nina Maxwell finished in a time of 31:11.9; her second best time of the season.

* Sophomore Liza Worrall recorded a season-best time of 37:30.8.

* Senior Teni Olayinka-Yusuf and sophomore Autumn Marteins-Jackson finished back-to-back. Olayinka-Yusuf finished in 42:00.9, while Marteins-Jackson crossed the finish line in 42:12.8. Both recorded new personal-best times.

Abington will be idle until Saturday, Nov. 1 when the Nittany Lions compete at the United East Championships. This year's championships is hosted by Penn State Brandywine.
