Abington Finishes Sixth at Highlander Invitational

RESULTS

Langhorne, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's cross country team finished sixth overall as the Nittany Lions took part in the annual Highlander Invitational hosted by Cairn University on Saturday. Freshman Mason Kaminski led the team with a third place showing in the 8k-course.

Race Highlights

* Kaminski recorded his third straight top-three finish as he wrapped up the 8k-race in a time of 28:16.7 marking his second fastest time this season.

* Senior Marco Isabella was the next Abington runner to cross the finish line as he finished in 32:49.3 (36^th).

* Freshman Shane McCreary clocked in at 33:37.2 to finish 39^th overall, while fellow freshman Jackie Chen finished in 34:29.3 (49^th).

* Sophomore Calvin Chen finished in 36:22.7 (68^th), while freshman Dan Kulb crossed in 37:07.8 (76^th).

* Other finishes for Abington, includes freshman Luke Kochan (38:12.8 – 85^th), freshman Edison Chen (38:19.0 – 86^th), senior Nic Worrall (42:07.6 – 104^th), freshman Anthony Long (43:42.3 – 109^th), freshman James Wu (44:47.1 – 114^th) and freshman Qiao Xin (48:12.6 – 124^th).

Race Notes

* Georgian Court University (D-II) finished first overall with a team score of 70.

* Williamson's Chase Ely was the top individual performer as he finished the race in 27:32.4. Lancaster Bible College's David Helms edge out Kaminski for second place by just over two seconds. Helms finished in 28:14.1 to Kaminski's 28:16.7.
