Frank Earns All-United East Third Team Honors

Latham, N.Y. – Penn State Abington sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Frank was named to the Women's Soccer All-United East Conference (UEC) third as announced by the conference office and voted upon by the United East head coaches.  Frank is earning All-United East honors for the first time in her career.

It was a stellar second season for Frank who started all 18 games for the Nittany Lions.  She finished the season with career-highs in goals (8), assists (6), points (22), total shots (45) and shots on-goal (23).

Frank recorded her first career hat-trick in the team's victory against the University of Valley Forge back on Oct. 11 at Memorial Field.  She also totaled three assists to finish the game with a career-high nine points.  Frank's three assists tied the program's single game record, and her nine points became the second most points tallied in a single game.  For her performance, she was subsequently named the United East Offensive Player of the Week.

Frank's three-goal/three-assist performance was also part of a run that saw her record at least one point in an eight-of-nine game stretch.  She also had the game-winning goal in the team's 1-0 shutout victory over Alvernia University during that span.

In 38 career games, Frank has totaled 13 goals and nine assists for 35 total points.

Abington (6-10-2, 4-4-0 UEC) qualified for the postseason for the third straight season after posting a 4-4-0 record in conference play.  The Nittany Lions received the sixth seed in the United East Championships and advanced to the quarterfinals.
