Men’s Tennis Recognized for Academic Success

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's tennis team received recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) when the organization announced its annual academic awards.
 
Abington earned the ITA All-Academic Team award for registering an impressive grade point average of 3.57 during the 2024-25 academic year.  In order to be named an ITA All-Academic Team, program's must have a team GPA of 3.2 or above.
 
Furthermore, five student-athletes were recognized with the ITA Scholar-Athlete award for holding a GPA of 3.5 or higher during the course of the 2024-25 academic year.  This year's list includes, Ulrich Commodore, Lucca Frederico, Wenxu Gu, Anton Labas and Mark Tymchenko.
 
In total, the ITA had 1,115 Division III men's tennis student-athletes named as ITA Scholar-Athletes and 135 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction for 2024-25.
