Abington Competes at United East Preview

Media, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's cross country team took part in the United East Conference (UEC) Preview hosted by Penn State Brandywine on Friday evening. Brandywine showcased the championship course as they will serve as host of the 2025 United East Championships on Nov. 1.

Race Highlights

* Junior Nicole Hakman was the first Abington runner to cross the finish line as she completed the 6k-course in a time of 32:41.84 (35^th). Freshman Nina Maxwell followed close behind with a time of 34:26.78 (42^nd ).

* Sophomore Liza Worrall finished the race in 41:00.96 (60^th), while junior Teni Olayinka-Yusuf completed the course in 44:33.48 (64^th).

* Other finishes include, sophomore Autumn Marteins-Jackson (45:52.19 – 68^th), junior Brianaliz Jimenez (51:26.72 – 71^st) and senior Yeva Amirkhanyan (1:01.40.02 – 75^th).

Race Notes

* Lancaster Bible finished first overall as a team as the Chargers recorded a team score of 54. St. Mary's College (Md.) finished second (60) and was followed by Cairn University (93) to round out the top three.

* Abington finished 10^th overall with a team score of 239.

Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 20 as the Nittany Lions host the annual Abington Invitational at Lorimer Park. The men's race kicks off at 9 a.m. and is followed by the women's race at 10 a.m.
